How a facelift is done?
Dr. Ruiz Ruiz performs the facelift in a hospital under general anaesthetic. The procedure can be combined with a rhinoplasty (nose surgery) or a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). These extra procedures can make the patient appear younger and improve their self-confidence. Normally this plastic surgery lasts several hours. Incisions are made above the hair and then extend in a line which passes just in front of the ears, and continues around behind the earlobe towards the back of the scalp.
Common techniques
There are three common techniques: firstly the traditional face lift that rejuvenates the face, jowls and neck. Secondly, the limited face lift which rejuvenates the area around the eyes and mouth. And finally, the neck lift that concentrates on jowls, loose skin on the neck, and fat under the chin.
After a facelift
After a facelift the patient will stay around 24-48 hours in the clinic. The drainage tubes will be removed after two days and the bandages are removed within five days after the lift. Many patients can return to work by the third week.
The results of a facelift are very satisfactory. Your face will look tighter and youthful.
