Women breast reduction (mammoplasty) is a plastic surgery procedure to reduce the breast, by making them smaller and more lifted. The breast is reshaped and the nipples repositioned, and fat, glandular tissue and skin are removed. The breast reduction may be used also to correct asymmetry of the breast.
The breast size use to be proportionate to the body and is determined by genetic, hormones, body frame and weight. But, when the breast is particularly large can cause discomfort, neck pain, skin irritations or psychological distress, including the difficult to take part in some sports or wear fashionable clothes.

How a breast reduction is done?
The breast reduction technique will be determined by the breast composition, your condition, your personal preference, and the amount of reduction desired.
The incision consists in a circular pattern around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease. After the incision is made, the nipple is then repositioned and the areola is reduced if necessary. Underlying breast tissue is reduced, lifted and shaped.

The plastic surgery takes two or three hours. The patient needs to remain in hospital for one day.
